It's National Assistant Principals' Week! Thank you to these dedicated individuals for their outstanding leadership, #APWeek24
MW Principal Dr. Marc D’Amico and Assistant Principal Steve Sorensen fell victim to an unexpected dessert attack last Thursday when Assistant Principal Dr. Laura Mayer willingly took on the task of throwing a pie in their faces. It was a sweet reward for the seventh graders who donated the most personal care items in a challenge with the eighth graders. Together, the classes donated over 700 items, including 120 bottles of shampoo, to the Hilton-Parma Emergency Food Shelf. In addition to the personal care items, basket raffles among staff raised $450, the 5 Buy Five Charity Art Show raised about $200, and Melos Café raised $150 – all for the Food Shelf. “Our school is happy to be able to help people in our community and to teach our students the importance of taking care of each other,” said D’Amico.
Check out Erin McBride's nomination! "Erin always has a smile and a positive perspective to share. She models welcoming and affirming ideals everyday with her kindergartners where she reminds them that we are all one team where everyone has something valuable to contribute. We are grateful she has joined our learning community!"

All proceeds will benefit the Cadet Cupboard and Heifer International to feed the hungry both near and far.
Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow, Wed., Mar. 20, is a half-day session for K-8 students. Students will be home approximately 4 hours earlier. Please be sure to have someone home for elementary students. Grades 9-12 have a full day session.
Kyle Russell, a 2013 Hilton grad, was featured in the latest issue of NYSUT United Magazine where he writes about why he decided to become a teacher. He credits his Hilton High School science teachers, Jennifer Howell and Maria Vowles, for inspiring and motivating him to enter the field of teaching. Russell is now a middle school science teacher in the Perry Central School District. Before that, he taught in Alaska.
Two great art events… this Tuesday night - 3/19!

"Mrs. Eason passionately and unconditionally supports all of her special education students in the district. She is an advocate for students and families and she works toward inclusion and equity in everything she does. She affirms the professional decision making and abilities of all of the special education faculty/staff and always has a warm and welcoming demeanor in the meetings she facilitates. Claire Drexler’s Health Essentials class at MW has been very busy learning life skills for the kitchen, such as measuring food, safety, healthy recipes, family traditions, working as a team, listening, and many more. This week they enjoyed making Henry Hunsinger’s favorite recipe to cook with his mom and grandmother – Mama Hunsinger’s Rice Krispy Craker Chicken. The results were very yummy!
