Greater Rochester school districts have joined together with Causewave Community Partners (formerly the Advertising Council of Rochester) and local businesses to get the word out about the high quality of education in our community. The campaign, titled “ACT (A Community Together) for Education” exists to build active community involvement in schools. Its main objective is to communicate how public schools in our community:

• Enhance workforce development and future economic vitality

• Have a direct impact on home values

• Attract and retain quality businesses and residents

ACT for Education was created by the Monroe County Superintendent’s Public Education Advocacy Committee (MCSPEAC). 

Getting involved in the Hilton Central School District

• Attend a Board of Education meeting.

• Join a committee. The Hilton School District has various committees on which public representation is welcome, such as the Budget Committee, District Improvement Team, Fitness & Wellness Committee, and Safety Committee. For more information, contact District Office at (585) 392-1000, ext. 7043.

• Attend a school event. See the District Calendar for more information.

• Volunteer in our schools. Hilton High School, Merton Williams Middle School, Northwood Elementary School, QUEST Elementary School and Village Elementary School all have volunteer opportunities.

• Take a Community Education course. You do not need to be a Hilton School District resident to enroll in Hilton Community Education courses.

• Volunteer with or make a donation to the Hilton Education Foundation. The Hilton Education Foundation is a charitable, not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting quality education programs for every student in the Hilton Central School District.

• Become a member of the Hilton Alumni Association and start a Facebook page for your class year, volunteer at an Alumni Association event, hold a reunion or meet up, or sponsor a scholarship.

• Get involved in Make A Difference Day. This national day of helping others through volunteerism is a huge event in the Hilton community.
