Here's what his peers had to say about TJ Russell Wright: "TJ is always extremely friendly and courteous whenever he is working with others. He always walks around with a smile on his face ready to help people, and helping people is something that he is really good at. The people that work with him love him, and he always tries his best to fix their problem whilst also being extremely respectful, patient and understanding." Thank you, TJ, for being welcoming and affirming!

A parent in Ashley Warren's kindergarten class at Village went above and beyond to bring joy to her son's classroom. Kelly Young, Jameson Young's mom, sent in a coloring sheet for each student, collected the students' hat designs, and created a unique hat for each of them. The students were thrilled by Ms. Young's kindness and creativity - and will love wearing their new hats in all of this snow!

According to her colleagues, "Annmarie goes above and beyond to make her students, families and coworkers feel welcomed and affirmed. She provides her students with a world class education, rich in culturally diverse experiences that allow her students to virtually travel beyond the Hilton limits. From west coast to east coast, her students meet authors, inventors, NFL hall of famers, artists, scientists and historians. She’s taken them to Mexico to experience authentic Aztec and Mayan art. She’s taken them to science and history museums thousands of miles from home. Her communication with families is unparalleled. She shares pictures, stories, individual victories and daily updates so that her families are a part of their student’s journey. She invites and includes teachers and administrators to embark on these adventures, allowing hundreds of Village students the opportunities to 'travel' and have cultural experiences that wouldn’t happen without her tireless efforts. Annmarie is beloved by all she meets. She is a bright light in Hilton and deserves to be celebrated and congratulated. Thank you for all you do! It’s simply amazing!"

Today, Village ES participated in #NoTechTuesday! Teachers committed to using no technology for a portion of the day. Mrs. DiGiacco's class solved a Superhero mystery with their 5th grade buddies from Mrs. Davison's class, and Mrs. Butlin's class had fun reading by flashlight!

Yesterday, the seventh grade Health Essentials class teamed up with other seventh graders for peer-to-peer support in creating new year’s goals for both in school and at home. In addition to the goals task, the teams of students are working together on peer-to-peer communication, leadership skills, non-judgmental relationships, friendships, and trust. “The big brother/big sister model gives students an opportunity to support each other,” said Claire Drexler, Health/FaCS teacher.
