Hilton Central School District leadership had the honor and privilege of being part of a special dedication ceremony in memory of 2003 Hilton High School graduate Specialist Jason Hasenauer Tuesday morning at the Hilton Fire Department where he was a member. New York State Assemblyman Josh Jensen, a 2006 Hilton Central School District graduate, introduced NYS Assembly Bill A8535, which passed in 2022, designating a portion of State Route 259 (North Avenue) in Parma between the Lake Ontario State Parkway and Dunbar Road as "Specialist Jason Hasenauer Memorial Highway".
Specialist Hasenauer died on December 28, 2005, while serving in Afghanistan as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division when the Humvee he was in rolled over due to a roadside bomb.
