Yesterday kindergarten students at Northwood planted magic pumpkin seeds. This morning, they saw that the magic worked! #WeAreHilton

Last day of school means the last day of sixth grade for the class of 2030. Northwood held its Moving On Ceremony today-next stop, Merton Williams!

A great tradition continued at Northwood this morning-the annual Flag Day celebration. Thanks to everyone who helped out, especially members of the Hiscock-Fishbaugh American Legion Post, State Assemblyman Josh Jensen and our amazing students!

Welcome to our newest staff! #Welcoming #Affirming #CadetProud

Fourth graders from Northwood made a big impression with a top official from the New York State Education Department. During a field trip to the Ganondagan State Historic Site they had the opportunity to meet Associate Commissioner Elisa Alvarez, who leads the Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages. The students told her how excited they were about the trip and showed off their second language skills by counting for her in both Spanish and Japanese.
" If your 4th graders are a testament to the work happening across your district, we are confident that our state is in good hands as you prepare the future leaders of New York," said David Frank, State Education Department Commissioner Betty A. Rosa's Chief of Staff.

Don't miss One Night Only - a celebration of the arts! Join us at Merton Williams Middle School from 6 - 7:30 p.m. to hear the Merton Williams Band, view student artwork, and make some artwork of your own!
ALSO, check out the new Hilton CSD Art Dept. website at https://sites.google.com/ga.hiltoncsd.net/hilton-csd-art/home.
It features recaps of all the events our students participated in this year, descriptions of courses and programs, a lot of great pictures, plus an archive of previous years’ events.

What a great day for Village and Northwood sixth graders to get together for the annual track and field event.

Great job by Northwood students Adrianna and Carter presenting their inventions and from Leo giving his TED Talk at last night's Board of Education meeting. Thanks to their REACH teacher Melanie Klock for sharing their talents with us.

Students at Northwood made the most of their half day-Ms. McBride's Kindergarten class held a Memorial Day Celebration, students took advantage of the weather by running/walking on a route set up in the bus loop, and students in Ms. Sica's class put on an amazing "Choose to Reuse" fashion show with clothes that were either from thrift stores or hand me downs, and an art/invention show that used only recycled materials.

Students from Northwood, Quest and Village had a chance to see computer programs they coded in use by the olive baboons at the Seneca Park Zoo. It's part of the Primate Portal Project along with RIT, Carnegie Mellon University and the zoo. More info on this coming soon!

This is a reminder that all Hilton CSD K-12 students have a half day on Thursday, May 23. Last night, educators from 9 different districts in the area gathered at the high school for a leadership symposium. Some great thoughts from school leaders and students about building organizational culture. Special thanks to Dr. Rudd and Dr. Green for organizing this event.

Happy Staff Appreciation Week! Let's take a moment to celebrate and recognize the incredible dedication and hard work of our teachers and school staff. We appreciate all you do to educate our students & put them first every day. #CadetProud #Welcoming #Affirming
