It's off to the National Invention Convention for a pair of Northwood students! Livia Standing and Estelle Greiner were selected by judges this weekend at the Western New York Convention in Buffalo to move on to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.
Livia created the Seal Swiper, a device that safely and cleanly removes the plastic from the top of condiment bottles and other household items. Estelle's invention, the Snow Snatcher keeps snow from falling onto your seat when you open your car door.
Congratulation and good luck to these incredible inventors!

Yesterday at Northwood some amazing kids showed off their amazing inventions in the annual Invention Convention. Need a device to clean the backup camera on your car? How about an all-natural lotion to improve concentration? These students had that and more! Here are some photos: https://hiltonschools.smugmug.com/2024-2025/Northwood/Invention-Convention

You've probably heard the expression a rose between two thorns-is this the opposite of that? Spikes paid a visit to Hilton today to meet his friend Crimson (and Mr. Warren) to work on promotion for HCSD Night with the Red Wings on May 16th. Stay tuned for more details!

The Hilton Central School District is pleased to announce that it is hosting a showing of the film Screenagers-Elementary School Age Edition. The showing will be held on March 19 at 6 p.m. in the QUEST Auditorium.

History came alive today at Northwood thanks to the students who make up Team Serenka/Weinstein. They put together a wax museum filled with notable figures from our past like Anne Frank, Rosa Parks and George Washington and from our present like Josh Allen and Christiano Ronaldo. All the subjects were chosen based on how they reflect one of the IB Learner traits; principled, reflective, balanced, caring, communicator, inquirer, knowledgeable, open-minded, and risk-taker. You can see more pictures from the museum here: https://hiltonschools.smugmug.com/2024-2025/Northwood/Wax-Museum

Today was Joy Day at Northwood. Kindergarten students rotated through classrooms to work on a variety of holiday craft projects. To see more pictures from this, and other district events, visit our SmugMug page: https://hiltonschools.smugmug.com

Northwood students went into the Thanksgiving break in style-celebrating with a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, a Readers Theater, and a Turkey Trot!

Everyone loves a parade, and this morning Ms. Reynoso's class at Northwood held one as a way to celebrate a book study of Balloon's over Broadway-the story of the first Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

The Northwood student council put out the Field of Valor yesterday. The display honors current or former members of the armed forces. Students and staff are asked to fill out tags with the names of people they would like to honor which are then attached to flags.
