Thank you to Kaleem Mogent, school counselor and advisor, and the Black Student Union for decorating the display case outside of Commons 2 at the High School in celebration of Black History Month, and to Emily Rocca, library media specialist, and the library staff for their efforts to make the library a safe space for all students. By taking the time to learn about the achievements, culture, and history of Black Americans, we expand our perspectives and deepen our understanding of our shared human experience.

Hilton High School students and staff went above and beyond to help those less fortunate this holiday season. The first of three projects provided gifts for 14 residents of DePaul Assisted Living and Mental Health facilities through DePaul’s Holiday Helpers program. Students and staff purchased and donated the holiday wish list items and made 14 individuals’ holidays brighter.
The school also collected various holiday gifts for children ages 0-10, such as toys, books, dolls, crafts, and games, that were donated to the Society for the Protection and Care of Children. In all, about 15 bags of gifts were donated!
Lastly, Student Council set up a Giving Tree in the main foyer filled with ornaments with gift ideas that students and staff could purchase and donate to the Golisano Children’s Hospital. Shown are Student Council officers (l-r) Joey Piperni, president; Sydney Fisher, vice president; Olivia Koegel, secretary; and David Padoleski, treasurer.
Many thanks to Hilton High School students and staff for their generous donations!
