Kyle Russell, a 2013 Hilton grad, was featured in the latest issue of NYSUT United Magazine where he writes about why he decided to become a teacher. He credits his Hilton High School science teachers, Jennifer Howell and Maria Vowles, for inspiring and motivating him to enter the field of teaching. Russell is now a middle school science teacher in the Perry Central School District. Before that, he taught in Alaska.

Two great art events… this Tuesday night - 3/19!
QUEST is hosting Empty Bowls from 5-7 pm. Pictured here is a sneak peek at some of the bowls you will see. The event includes a meal of soup and bread, along with a student-created bowl for a $5 donation. Proceeds benefit the Hilton Cadet Cupboard and Heifer International.
Also this Tuesday, across the street from QUEST, is the IB Visual Arts Senior Exhibition featuring the works of our senior student artists, This year’s seniors are incredibly talented, and their collective show will be in room 208 on the 2nd floor of the Hilton Community Center at 59 Henry Street. The opening reception is 6-7:30 p.m., with the show on display through Friday, Mar. 22.

This Tues 3/19 from 6-7:30 p.m., Chris Ver Weire and Amanda Eedle, art teachers, will be hosting the opening of the Senior IB Art Show. This year, it will take place offsite at the Hilton Community Center. The show will be on display from Mar. 15-22. We hope you can join us to appreciate these advanced art students' hard work. This event is the same night as Empty Bowls, which is hosted at QUEST from 5-7 p.m. Enjoy a great night of student art!

High School students had a friendly competition of rock, paper, scissors last Friday during lunch. Participants each received a penny during round one. The winners of that round got the other person’s penny and so on. The person who ended up with the most pennies (and therefore won the most rounds) was the winner! Winners received candy and Cadet swag as prizes. Principal Dr. Jeff Green led the game, along with a karaoke competition earlier this year, as a way to make lunchtime fun and welcoming for students.
