Village Elementary families enjoyed a night of fun activities during the school’s first STEAM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Night. Students at all grade levels and their families were able to check out a 3D printing demonstration in the library; see and touch animal artifacts found in New York State; learn about how animals adapt to their environment; paint pottery; see and hear the various musical instruments available to play in the school band; do an experiment with air pressure; build a boat out of aluminum foil and see how much cargo it can hold before sinking; blow up a balloon without using their mouth; have fun on their Chromebooks with a coding activity; and play a game that shows how neurons in the brain work.
