On June 2, 120 parents, teachers and retired teachers, high school students, Quest intermediate students, as well as the Hilton Fire Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and Monroe 2 BOCES came together to make this year's QUEST Science Fun Day a great success. Coordinated by Paige Langswager and Cathleen Lippincott, elementary teachers, the day is dedicated to learning science in a hands-on and interesting way. Students travel around the school building and outdoor classrooms to learn about science in our everyday lives.
This year's many demonstrations included: Strawberry DNA, Forensic Science, CPR and First Aid, Skylab, Honeybees, Worms are Our Friends, Birds of Prey, and much more.
The day was divided into six 35-minute sessions each with a presentation and a hands-on activity for the students. Many thanks to all the volunteers!
