Jennifer Sica's 5th grade class wearing hand-me-down/used clothing

Jennifer Sica's fifth grade class at Northwood Elementary School in Hilton learned how to recycle, reuse items, and reduce what ends up in landfills during their ecology unit. Students researched ways they can reduce, reuse, and recycle in all areas of their daily lives, then created a project made with only recycled materials. Some students made helpful household items, like a bird feeder, table and chair, and others created games and decorative items. All the items were displayed in the cafeteria where students talked about what inspired their creation. The second part of the project was a fashion show during which students wore hand-me-downs and/or clothing purchased from used clothing stores. During the fashion show, students presented facts about the importance of reusing, recycling, and reducing waste.
